Amanda Klinger is a School Safety Expert, Attorney, and School Law Geek. Her mission is to equip educators, administrators, school-based law enforcement and other stakeholders with the tools they need to keep kids safe!
Amanda Klinger, Esq. is nationally recognized as an expert in cyberbullying, school safety, and the law. She speaks and delivers trainings to audiences all over the United States.
Ms Klinger works at the unique intersection of school safety, the law and technology. A native of Genoa, Ohio, Ms Klinger graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Toledo, Ohio before attending Denison University. She double majored in Philosophy and communications, completed a bachelor’s degree in 3.5 years and took the extra time to work as a substitute teacher before beginning law school the next fall. Ms Klinger graduated from the University of Akron, School of Law in 2009. She practiced in North Carolina, representing clients in civil and criminal proceedings. She also worked in North Carolina’s juvenile justice system, working as an advocate for youths charged with crimes, and also as a parent attorney in abuse, neglect and dependency proceedings.
Ms Klinger now resides in the District of Columbia. She has developed training courses for the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. She is often invited to speak at national school safety conferences, and develops and delivers training to school districts all over the US. Ms Klinger authored a chapter in the forthcoming book “Moving Beyond Lockdown: The Time is Now” Ms Klinger is approved as an adjunct professor for Ashland University and the University of Findlay.
Ms Klinger was recently appointed to the board of directors for SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) a national nonprofit striving to decrease the potential for violence in our schools and communities by promoting meaningful student involvement, education and service opportunities in efforts to provide safer environments for learning. Worked independently as an associate at a small firm. Practiced primarily in the areas of estate planning and criminal defense. Drafted estate plans for private clients. Advocated for both court-appointed and retained clients. Acted as a court-appointed parent attorney in abuse, neglect, dependency cases. Did work concerning small business, landlord/tenant, real estate. Helped to research and write a brief for the Supreme Court of North Carolina.
